As a talented and hard-working User Experience, UI + Visual Design, and Creative Team management professional, I have over 15 years of interactive marketing, advertising, and e-commerce experience — including over 9 years working with healthcare-based organizations.
Leadership initiatives have included the cultivation of ground-breaking non-personal/interactive promotion strategy; development of sales team enhancement programs; design of user-centered interactive e-commerce and CRM solutions; and partnering, mentoring, and managing teams of creative, production, and development professionals.
My early career was spent working as Production Artist while also building my interactive marketing bona fides by contracting as a Web Designer, Front-end Web Developer, and ultimately Interactive Designer. Adobe Creative Suite and Flash were my trade tools (as well as HTML, CSS, and Javascript), used to produce web projects and stand-alone applications for clients as varied as Caterpillar, Kellogg’s, and Northwestern University. Benefiting from those experiences, I was able to move onto a long-standing engagement with a healthcare ad agency, where I helped to build up the organization’s interactive marketing capabilities. Growing into a Creative Direction role, I partnered with several teams of designers, copywriters and developers. I also undertook graduate-level coursework in e-commerce technology.
Since 2012, I’ve been deeply engaged in several roles focused on user experience design, research, and strategy. While gaining research experience using UserTesting.com, Optimizely, and the Google Analytics platform, much of my core capabilities have been utilized to develop sitemaps & flow diagrams, high-fidelity wireframes, and fully functional prototypes. In the past, I used InDesign for general wireframing and sitemap development, however, I currently use Axure as my primary tool for both design and prototype development. As projects require, I also use Figma, Sketch, and even Adobe XD.
When not working, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and generally trying new things. You’ll often find me conducting research on various topics of interest – recently this has included solar energy, woodworking, and crockpot cooking. Around my house, you’ll find numerous objects of interest that I continue to explore – musical instruments, building tools, canvases and paints, sporting goods, electronic equipment, and all of the pots, pans, and ingredients you’ll need to make virtually anything.
