Among the projects my team worked on with the Lilly Diabetes team was a mobile phone app that helped to educate patients and caregivers on how to properly store and effectively deliver Glucagon for the treatment of severe hypoglycemia. Rather than providing just a video tutorial, the app allowed patients to engage in the step-by-step process of preparing the solution, filling the syringe, cleaning the injection site, and administering the product.

After gathering requirements and product information, including a general understanding of the workflow used to administer Glucagon, a sitemap was developed. We used this to define the program’s structure as well as to begin the process of med-legal approval.
Wireframes with interactive notes helped, not only to clarify the program’s content for client approval and med-legal reviews but also to provide instructions for the development team.
